Gimme that Giggle Water

quel succès! just about everyone showed up en coutume and ready to hot glue some feather headbands and down some hooch for darlene's roaring 20s themed bday soiree. there was dancing, there were props, PLENTY of fringe and of course cake & snacks from costco.  i even channeled my inner lady mary to throw up a few swell decor details to doll up the joint. and how!

quick weekend getaway in tahoe - i'm not much one for winter sports (i start crying everytime i get on a chairlift), but had a blast touring around sleepy south tahoe. maybe next time i'll work up the courage to actually try skiing again, but until then i'm perfectly happy sippin on my hot chocolate at the lodge

dear *clean* laundry :: youve been sitting in the basket for several days now. i may have tucked you in the corner, but i didnt forget about you. ive just been too lazy to sort you. maybe todays our day?

dear $12 flats :: i had my doubts. i thought you were too good to be true. but you proved me wrong! please dont fall apart in the next few weeks - i promise to stop wearing you everyday.

some good, some bad

thumbs down - the latest iphone update wiped out all of my music, apps, contacts and a years worth of pictures. and i seem to have picked up some latent cold bug and woke up without a voice feeling all sore and achy. the pits!

thumbs up - made a quick trip to beverleys craft store and stocked up on over $50 worth of projects (needtostopspendingallmymoneyondiy). caught up with a few of my faves over facetime. went on a 'mystery farewell outing' with some old and new friends that turned out to be a surprisingly awesome evening of ultra bowling. and i won?!?!

i am in serious need of an itunes makeover. a full on tai-becomes-mean-and-popular style makeover. i can't even remember the last time i opened itunes! (do people still use itunes??) as in i haven't added annnyyyyy new music since i downloaded bought that 2007 beirut album. oy. i think we can all appreciate keeping a few classics on deck like aqua or chumbawamba, but there comes a time when we need to look past the old and embrace the next generation of 2 chainz and carly rae jepsens of the world.

lately, i've taken up with spotify, pandora and npr (obsessed with their app), leaving my hard won 20,000+ itunes library behind. but when it comes down to it, i miss the permanence of owning a music collection, displaying my mostly embarrassing collection of cds from middle school, giving friends my latest mixed tape recorded off the radio

and so i give you my wednesday mix tape of the modern age. to perk up your hump day.
